The message comes by carrier pigeon actually, which is a pretty weird way to deliver a message but of course, it's thematic. A very pretty looking brown pigeon swoops down out of the sky to wherever Milla just so happens to be that afternoon and holds out its leg. The message is short and simple:
Got a job for you. Meet me at the farm at dusk. No show, no job. Keep it a secret, rewarded very well.
- Hal
P.S. Burn this.
And that's it. Of course, if Milla chooses to listen to the message, she will find the Sheriff at the farm at dusk, chewing a piece of tobacco and watching the sun set. She'll be greeted with a tip of his hat and one word:
"Bounty."
And then he holds out a small notebook. Looks like Milla's been chosen for one of those roles that were mentioned. Good luck.
[of course Milla obliges the message, more out of curiosity than anything else. she's pretty used to carrier pigeons too, so she doesn't find the method of delivery that strange. it actually reminds her of Alvin. . . but anyway. she's at the farm at dusk, arms crossed, stance closed off and difficult to read.]
[she flips through the notebook wordlessly, finding that her "role" isn't really different from what she planned on doing in the first place. she didn't want to murder anyone at someone else's command, and she still wanted to get as many people out of this place alive as possible. but she also intended to survive. she needed to survive. she needed to survive. . . and if she had to kill someone in self-defense to do so, then so be it]
[after she scans the addition rules, she snaps the notebook shut and addresses the Sheriff directly]
[ The Sheriff watches Milla read through her book and feels warmly satisfied he's chosen right when she closes it and addresses him. He nods, folding his arms over his chest. ]
Sure is, ma'am. Figure you might as well know if it we're going to be working together. Are we going to be working together?
[Milla had mostly left Hal alone last week, out of annoyance for the whole. . . dismembering and incinerating Tiara without a proper burial ritual thing. but this week, she has a few questions to ask and no immediate bones to pick with him (despite Sakyou's violent murder and the bodies hanging from the trees). and so, she slips the good Sheriff a note in the suggestion box-- farm at dusk. milla-- and meets him at the usual spot]
Before you ask, no, I am not here to yell at you again.
[OH BOY OH BOY does Milla have a lot for him this week]
[she leaves the usual note in the suggestion box again, though this time Milla can be found waiting for Hal near one of the apple trees at the farm. she's picking the ripest of ripe fruits she can find, and she already has an armful when he arrives]
We may be here a while. I have much to discuss with you. But first: can you give me an update on the other Bounties?
I have to admit, I'm not too fond of the idea of cashing in my hard work for a "reward" when the only reward I want is for this game to end with no more casualties.
[but all the same, she recognizes an opportunity when she sees one]
What sort of things can you give me?
["boys," is it. . . she lapses into silence as she chews on an orange slice]
As for the other Bounties, none of them have sought me out just yet. Or at least, not that I know of. I have a few suspicions though-- I'll see if I can smoke them out in the week to come.
Two different occurrences, Milla. Curfew works on a three strike rule. First time you're out and interfering, nothing happens. Second time, injury. Third time, death. She was going to die if she went out Thursday no matter what, town would punish her for it.
Damian's mistake on the other hand, was a completely different thing. I was going to have the Bandit this week kill her. That issue got taken care of for me entirely.
[. . . flexes her hands at her sides as they ball into fists. she feels the anger coming back, but she's swallowing it down]
I see.
[she wants to know Damian's mistake, but as angry as she is about this, there are more important things to focus on. she doesn't want to accidentally use up any merit she's earned asking questions that she can get the answers for somewhere else. time to move away from this subject]
You told me before that if we get creative, there may be a way to end the game early without killing the Deputy. Considering our Bounty Leader is very much against murder, this is an option our group is attempting to explore.
One: is the Deputy required to be alive in order to end the game early without killing them? And two: are there any other concrete win conditions we don't know about that you can tell me?
[this time, Milla doesn't ask the Sheriff to meet her at the farm. she goes to his place directly, on the second floor of the station, and knocks on his door until he answers. this is also probably after she watched him burn down the post office and be melancholy over over the place]
The Sheriff opens his door and he is perfectly dressed, so no worries there. He just blinks at her for a moment before shrugging and beckoning inside. ]
I was just making some tea. You're welcome to join me, I suppose.

That depends on what reward you're offering me. And if you have a fire-creating device in your possession right now.

Bounty Leader's got their knickers in a twist trying to find ya. Is getting close to understanding who they're looking for though.
You other two Bounties are working hard too. You've been talking to them, even if you ain't aware it's them you're talking to.
no subject
I had a feeling. A certain few seem to be getting an awful lot of information on roles from "undisclosed sources."
[ha]
I believe I might have a lead on who the Lead Bounty is myself, but before I pursue it I wanted to clarify some game rules.
Is killing the role that is after the Bounties the only way to potentially end the game early?

Are there any updates on the other two Bounties? It seems I've managed to locate our leader.

Eh, not really? Boys decided to keep their head down, I suppose. Or were just too busy. They really ain't seek you out yet?
