So, you're dead. Shame, that.

But on the other hand, it's actually kind of nice.

When you "wake" in some odd version of it, you'll find yourself lying on a rather plush bed. It's cozy and warm and just soft enough to tempt anyone back into sleep. The room is equally nice, if small, and when you turn and open the curtains to look out the window, you will see... wait, is that the town?

It is, actually. The town is laid out quite simply across the window and no matter how many times you may bang or wave through the window, no one seems to notice you. If you're smart enough to give up the venture and leave the small bedroom, you will notice that, of course, you are on the train.

The train that, is actually pretty fancy.

Moving through it, past the sleeping cabins and through to the main carts, you will find a dining car with fine dishware and meals of all kinds made at a push of a button or a request given to the air. They'll appear, freshly made and ready to eat at the table of your choice with any drink you could want. There truly doesn't seem to be any limits when it comes to the luxury of the meal.

There is also a bathhouse car with private bathrooms and saunas to fit up to four. Even one rather large room containing a small pool/hot tub of sorts is available for just about anyone to take a dip. It's kind of outlandish, honestly.

Then the lounge car, with its library and plush armchairs and couches. A pool table, a darts board, even a small area dedicated to painting. There's a bar too, fully stocked and ready for anyone who needs a drink. All it would require is a request from the bartender who... looks surprisingly familiar?

The Sheriff is there, much cleaner cut than his counterpart outside of the train. He looks up mildly at any arrivals, giving them a nod of greeting before going back to organizing bottles or setting cigars out for a smoke. He doesn't seem to be surprised at all by anyone who appears. Just... ready to serve them, whatever they may wish.

It all sort of seems okay for a moment, until you realize you're just here to wait for the game to end. Awkward.

[ She's improvising. ]

[A soft huff. She means it to be amused, but it comes out flat.]

[She does take a sip, though.]

[Almost too quickly:]

No, I don't.

[Her thoughts when she's alone scare her. She sucks in a breath.]

...How much do you know about what happened?

To you, or in general? I know the bare basics of the first, and the latter kind of more.

[ And she'll just pull up a plush seat to sink into. Natalie's been through some shit, Sara can honor the desire to have some company right now. ]

I guess both, but I meant the first.

[A light shrug, as she takes another sip.]

There's a reason Sara waited until after that point to find Natalie. ]

[A bitter laugh to hide an honestly pained expression just from the thought of the person Sara is avoiding mentioning. She shakes her head, takes another sip, and this one takes her longer to swallow.

After a moment or two...]

You didn't watch the trial, then?

No, I did. I stopped watching after he explained where he was and everyone kind of group-tackled Jason.

[ Hard to enjoy pizza after that. ]

We've... got some seriously passionate people here with the wrong kind of motivation.

[ Shovel impalement, cannibalism... ]

But as far as I'm concerned, it's bare basics until I hear your side.

[Her face twists in concern upon hearing that, and she swallows thickly.]

Jason-? They didn't hurt him, did they? When they were holding him back.

[She can't say she's surprised to hear they had to restrain him, but it stings to imagine all the same.]

...If you want to know anything about it, I'll tell you.

They miiiiiight've had to knock him out, but that was before he took a shot at Milla's ribs, so... uh, well. [ UH. ] He's young and spry, though, he'll be fine.

[ He handled getting knocked out in a coyote brawl and Sara having to drag his body to the clinic, after all. ]

... As for you, I... are you sure? If you don't want to talk about it, I completely get it.

Took a shot at her... [Jason.] Oh, for fuck's sake.

[If there's a bit of guilt in her her expression upon talking about him, then... Well. She never should have put him in a situation where he was upset enough to do something like that.

Regardless, she moves on quickly with a nod of her head.]

I'm fine, seriously. It's fine.

[ Is any of it really fine? Seriously?

Sara's got to wonder, but for now, she only sighs. ]

How did the whole thing with Hannibal go down? Were you made a Bandit or--

[She nods.]

I knew he was the Deputy a few hours before I got the note that I'd been chosen, which... What an asshole. Anyways, Jason, Percy, Milla, Noctis, Damian, Shinnosuke and I had this kind of... strategy group thing? And we'd gotten from the Sheriff that one way to end the game was to get down to a group of people who were unwilling to kill each other. That seemed basically impossible with Will and Hannibal alive, so...

[A shrug.]

I wasn't going to kill anyone innocent, and you know what happens if you refuse. Figured if that was how it was going to go either way, I might as well take them down with me.

I'm kind of bummed I missed a party that big. [ Never mind that she's been dead for almost a week at this point-- and there's a smaller frown, because of course the Sheriff would have worded it like that. It meant they wouldn't be killing each other, but...

What an asshole, she thinks, humorlessly. ]

But yeah, I know how it goes. Were you targeting both of them originally?

We're bummed you missed it, too.

[She shakes her head.]

Nah. I would have, but he told me I could only choose one target. I was pretty sure everyone would vote for Will if anything happened to me. Two birds with one stone, I guess.

I'd say you probably shouldn't have assumed that, but--

[ WELL. Sara shrugs. ]

In the end, I guess at at least that part worked out.

[A shrug in response.]

When we were heading to the lake, he told me he'd get everyone to vote for him. I would have found a way to injure him or bruise him or something like that.

[And then she sighs, running a hand through her hair.]

I mean, the goal was to get rid of both of them, so it did work.

[It's just that it was a plan made to prevent unnecessary death, only to get here and realize that all of them have to die regardless. Yikes.]

Yeah, I don't think anyone can say you don't follow through on things.

... But I'm putting you in charge of Jason when he gets here. I'll probably have my hands full already.

[ An eyebrow raise-- because yes, all of that was more than just someone being upset over a friend, she's pretty sure. ]

[She pauses for a moment, before rubbing at her face.]

Yeah, if he doesn't absolutely hate me by then. Also, why do you assume I should be the one who...

[Wait. Ugh.]

Oh my god, don't look at me like that.

[ Griiiiiiiiiiiiiin. ]

Look at you like what, exactly? Like I'm pretty sure he'd never be able to hate you because reeeaaasons?

[ smack her. She can take it. ]

[She picks up the mug, taking a long swallow, but she definitely hasn't downed enough of the glass to be going red in the face like she is. A mystery!!]

I just want you to know that I hate you.

Oh, please. [ said so breezily, like they weren't just talking about cannibals and killing people a few minutes ago. ]

We're both ladies here. The rule of thumb is that Girl Talk happens, and the judging is minimal.

[She just kind of scoots the glass away to plunk her head down on the table. Let her rest.]

I have the worst timing, Sara.

[ Sara studies her for a few seconds, then reaches out to rest a hand on her head. ]
