The message comes by carrier pigeon actually, which is a pretty weird way to deliver a message but of course, it's thematic. A very pretty looking brown pigeon swoops down out of the sky to wherever Noctis just so happens to be that afternoon and holds out its leg. The message is short and simple:
Got a job for you. Meet me at the farm at dusk. No show, no job. Keep it a secret, rewarded very well.
- Hal
P.S. Burn this.
And that's it. Of course, if Noctis chooses to listen to the message, he will find the Sheriff at the farm at dusk, chewing a piece of tobacco and watching the sun set. He'll be greeted with a tip of his hat and one word:
"Bounty."
And then he holds out a small notebook. Looks like Noctis's been chosen for one of those roles that were mentioned. Good luck.
[of course, he's going to check it out. not because he's really interested in complying with any of this bullshit, but because he wants to know what it's all about.
he also doesn't burn the message, pocketing it instead—he'll wait on that until after he knows what this is about. and sure enough noct will show up when he's asked to, giving a wary eye to that greeting..
[ He's just gonna snort here before spitting out his tobacco. He'll be digging into his pocket to pull out another piece, gesturing for Noctis to talk with a hand. ]
So the whole point of this Bounty business. [well, maybe not the entire reason, but what he's focused on right now.] Find the others without getting caught. That's... what I'm supposed to be doing right now?
I only tell it to roles and more information with roles who are cashing in their rewards. Not that much to anyone else unless they've earned it completely.
I didn't tell him anything I wouldn't tell the public as a whole and he got most of that shit wrong, so I'm pretty annoyed with that, if I'm frank. I didn't tell him anything about roles either.
Hey. Pretty sure you can guess what I'm dropping by to do. [spoilers, he has questions. he's pretty sure there has to be something for him to cash in on at this point.]
[he's not even being an aggressive ass this time!]
Just wanted to clarify some stuff. [not wasting time, though.] Sara said that she agreed to do her bandit job because her world was threatened, not her life.
We didn't see eye-to-eye much. And I still don't agree with any of this. But... I'm not blaming you for it.
Make sure you take care of your cat. Don't let anything happen to this one. Try not to let anything happen to the other animals, either. They're innocent, they don't deserve any of this. Give Ash hell if he gives you any problems about that, too.

There. Now can I ask questions? [he's got a bunch, honestly.]
no subject
Sure can. Go for it, I'm all ears.
no subject
[which sounds stupid, but okay.] What the hell's the point of that? Trying to rack up the body count by giving people ways to get "caught?"

Hey. Got a question. [he's pretty sure he won't get an answer he wants, and his jaw is still clenched because, y'know.
fuck this guy and everything.

Quick question. [he's not beating around the bush since every day here is a day longer that he's just done with everyone's shit.]
How much about the roles have you actually told to people who come asking you? [he's not even being a petulant shit this time, he just wants to know.]

Riku said you told him things. You said he didn't have a role, though— [so he's wondering what that's about. not accusatory!! for once!!]

Sheriff Hal,
Make sure you take care of your cat. Don't let anything happen to this one. Try not to let anything happen to the other animals, either. They're innocent, they don't deserve any of this. Give Ash hell if he gives you any problems about that, too.
Take care.
