So, you're dead. Shame, that.

But on the other hand, it's actually kind of nice.

When you "wake" in some odd version of it, you'll find yourself lying on a rather plush bed. It's cozy and warm and just soft enough to tempt anyone back into sleep. The room is equally nice, if small, and when you turn and open the curtains to look out the window, you will see... wait, is that the town?

It is, actually. The town is laid out quite simply across the window and no matter how many times you may bang or wave through the window, no one seems to notice you. If you're smart enough to give up the venture and leave the small bedroom, you will notice that, of course, you are on the train.

The train that, is actually pretty fancy.

Moving through it, past the sleeping cabins and through to the main carts, you will find a dining car with fine dishware and meals of all kinds made at a push of a button or a request given to the air. They'll appear, freshly made and ready to eat at the table of your choice with any drink you could want. There truly doesn't seem to be any limits when it comes to the luxury of the meal.

There is also a bathhouse car with private bathrooms and saunas to fit up to four. Even one rather large room containing a small pool/hot tub of sorts is available for just about anyone to take a dip. It's kind of outlandish, honestly.

Then the lounge car, with its library and plush armchairs and couches. A pool table, a darts board, even a small area dedicated to painting. There's a bar too, fully stocked and ready for anyone who needs a drink. All it would require is a request from the bartender who... looks surprisingly familiar?

The Sheriff is there, much cleaner cut than his counterpart outside of the train. He looks up mildly at any arrivals, giving them a nod of greeting before going back to organizing bottles or setting cigars out for a smoke. He doesn't seem to be surprised at all by anyone who appears. Just... ready to serve them, whatever they may wish.

It all sort of seems okay for a moment, until you realize you're just here to wait for the game to end. Awkward.

[ As of Wednesday, Nisha is here, and once she gets the lay of the land she's spending a lot of her time drinking. Might as well take advantage of a well-stocked bar, and there isn't a lot else to do. ]

[So much for a fair duel. Was it pointless, he wonders?]

[ Nisha just sighs at that. ]

I got voted out, there was no way I wasn't gonna kick it eventually. Sheriff just needed me for one more job first, apparently.

[So it was pointless. No surprise there, he supposes, but he had hoped the duel would mean one of them would live. Oh well]

What job was it, anyways? Did he send you to shoot whoever killed his cat?

Nope. I don't know who killed the cat. There was one more person not participating he had assigned to me. Diego.

[ She smirks slightly. ]

Got to have one more bit of fun before I went, at least.

[Diego...nope, doesn't sound familiar. Tarvek can't even picture who it is. Must have been a stealth master]

Either way, looks like there's nothing else to do than wait for the winner. May as well try some of these liquors, since I won't have the chance back at home.

[Princes don't get drunk, and he's too busy to indulge in it, either way. After taking a drink...]

So who's going to win the game? Any bets on that?

[ She swirls her glass as she considers that. ]

I don't like to make my bets without a little more information. I've got some ideas of people who might make it to the end, but I think I'll keep my peace on that for now.

A bunch of stuff, but the short story is I got voted to die. Well, it was a tie, but that just meant I wasn't alone.

[ She looks Annabeth over with a slight smile. ]

You're looking well. Your boyfriend was worried about you.

[Amiably takes a seat next to her. Hey girl.]

[ She tips up her hat and grins at him. ]

Fancy meeting you here.

[Mimics the hat tip motion, even though he's not wearing one.]

Hadn't been the plan, but things don't work out quite according to plan sometimes. You interested in a round two?

[ Soon Simon, too, will be joining her, sans the pigtails he's been wearing up til now. He knocks back two shots like a man with a mortal grudge against his own liver. ]

[ She just raises an eyebrow at him. ]

This is a little sooner than I was expecting to see you.

Tell me about it. I don't even know how those hypocritical shits got me out of my room.

[ She looks a little surprised—at his attitude. What he's saying itself doesn't necessarily surprise her. ]

Well, I'm sure the Sheriff has his ways. I'm sure he's eager enough to enable people willing to kill.

Well I can tell you, he never offered me any such accommodations.

[ That makes her grin at him. ]

Are you saying you had occasion to ask for them?

Just the opposite. I'm frustrated that I wan't given the opportunity.

[ Doing another shot. ]

I lied before. Not the sob story; that part was all true. But I'm not a weakling.

...That's good to hear. The murder on your poster, then?

If one accepts that quietly informing my enemies as to all the reasons they should destroy each other counts as inciting murder, and hiring a good-for-nothing assassin who fails his job counts as soliciting murder, and squishing a guy who was trying to kill me with a hot air balloon counts as committing murder — in that case, sure, it's all true.

[ snort ]

I see. Not really my style, any of that, but at least it's a little more interesting than the story of a guy who's been cowering away his whole life.

I'd be open to trying something new. What are your feelings on holding a guy while I smash his pretty face in?

I'd say my feelings on that are pretty positive. You know who the guy is?
