nice to meet you abi! admittedly i am one of the only people in the world that hasn't played kingdom hearts so i'm not familiar with riku, but i'm sure i'll be able to go with the flow i'm excited too!
That is AOK! The quick and dirty is that Riku fucked up bad, realized he fucked up bad, and is in the midst of trying to atone for his mistakes... by making bad decisions such as revoking the right of people to exist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The only things that will affect the two of them right off the bat is that he's going to be constantly wearing a blindfold, but can see perfectly fine while wearing it bc PLOT, and as soon as he gets in the room he's going to be shoving whichever bed is his up against the wall bc that's what happens when you've been wandering alone in hostile territory for a while!
