SHINNOSUKE... all Barnham really knew about Shinnosuke was that he was a brave soul, and he did his absolute best despite being stuck in a shitty situation. Which was honestly enough to give him a semi-positive opinion of Shinnosuke, because that's all that Barnham really needs to develop a positive opinion of someone in a place like this??? Yeah, so. Shinnosuke was alright in his book. A little abrasive and a little rude, but it was obvious that he was trying his best in a shitty situation, so he couldn't blame him for that.
He honestly admired the way that Shinnosuke handled his blindness; he knew it couldn't be easy on top of everything else, but Shinnosuke never stopped moving forward. Still, in the end, that was why Barnham picked Shinnosuke to kill. He knew that everyone had to be removed from the game in order for everyone to go home, and he also knew that there was no other option; if they chose any ending besides everyone getting murdered, the Sheriff would get to decide their outcome, and he couldn't accept that. He asked the Sheriff before performing the deed, and he confirmed that Shinnosuke would get his sight back that way--
So Barnham did it. He shot him real dead.
He doesn't expect Shinnosuke to forgive him or anything, and that's why he hasn't approached him; he figures Shinnosuke will be happier to live the rest of his life if he never has to see Barnham again, and he certainly won't blame him for that. The guilt he has to killing Shinnosuke is his own to bear, and so he'll bear it.
In the meantime, he hopes that Shinnosuke was able to rest a little, recover from the horrors inflicted on him from this game, and is now ready to tackle his world and save his sister, and live the life he was supposed to live.
