GOD SIB I'm laughing, when will we have positive murder cr.... (tikirobo).

Ash was kind of a weird case for Barnham because he wasn't really sure what to make of him? A) he has no idea what robots are so that was already a Thing b) why does Ash have so much hatred in his soul, he didn't understand. HE STILL DOESN'T UNDERSTAND?? But also he wasn't super interested in unlocking Ash's Tragic Past so he will never Understand...... single tear.

But honestly, aside from Ash being Noct's roommate and Ash being fussed over Barnham's entire existence, Barnham wasn't super concerned about him. He felt like Ash was mostly hot air and not actually that much of a problem for a long time, especially as the weeks went by and nobody seemed to have suffered any horrible robot-y deaths, so Barnham mostly gave him a pass. So long as Noct was safe, it didn't much matter what Ash did.

The reason he didn't go after Ash for so long despite...not wanting Ash to be the last person standing...was that he asked the sheriff about Ash and learned about the bomb and everything. He wasn't sure how to handle that yet, and then the Sheriff volunteered to take care of it for his cast so barnham was like SHRUGS, SURE. So in the end....... Ash was right all along about Barnham, too bad nobody listened to him.

And now Barnham mostly is fine with never seeing Ash again so long as Ash is good to Noct, and it seems like Noct is His First Friend SO ALL IS WELL. They had the weirdest distantly kind of antagonistic but not entirely relationship ever, honestly.
