YELLS TO HIGH HEAVENS ABOUT MILLA MAXWELL

god okay we got such a late start to our cr and Im so angry all the time styx because milla and percy are SO GREAT. so when he first met milla he honestly was just kind of like "this lady is intense and kind of scary but in the most amazing way possible?" (you're canon-familiar, you know he's surrounded by badass kind of scary ladies, milla fit right in.) he thought she was great in trials and she tried and that was something he's always liked about her. beyond that he didn't have strong opinions.

it wasn't until that first meeting that he really started to open up to her and really take into consideration everything she was saying. it was natalie's idea to bring milla and he's so glad he listened to her because of how everything snowballed from there. he's honored that milla trusted him and it was from that very first conversation where she revealed she was a bounty that he swore he'd help and protect her, too, even while he had his own role to juggle. he wanted to find answers to help people like milla and it was people like milla that drove him forward to do whatever was necessary to find the best solution possible.

it's like he told her in one of their other conversations, he admires her ability to still be optimistic in the face of doom and it's something he wishes he was better at. a lot of them in the later part of the game drew strength from milla's optimism and percy himself didn't want to hurt her or let her down. he wanted her to keep fighting even in the end when he knew what would happen. he wanted what was best for her and he wishes that milla didn't have to play a game like this.

on the other hand, he feels that she was one of the better candidates since she was so fearless and willing to adapt. it's yet another thing he admires. he finds her funny and interesting and like another really cool big sister who understands things in ways other people don't. she's a good argument for learning to think outside of the box and he's still amazed how smart and right she was about some of the end-game results.

he wants to stay in touch with her and he will always be grateful for her friendship and assistance. she initially started out as a strategy partner but she quickly became a friend. he wishes he had relied on her sooner, but he knows better for the future. he will never regret meeting milla and he will always keep moving forward because of what she's shown and taught him
