Coal Miners are known to have a very harsh and unforgiving job, a job that isn't as celebrated during the morning light as are others like the Town Doctor or the Sheriff. Yet the work they do is just as important and the same rule applies here. The Sheriff has tasked two participants with the very dirty job of taking out the players that do not play.
Since the game itself is focused on merit and "earning your keep", there has to be consequences for those who don't. The Miners will function as that consequence, killing inactive participants by the Sheriff's order. This role is a secret and until one of the Miners dies, no other participants of the game should be aware of it.
GENERAL
The Miners will always be given an order to kill. While they can come to the Sheriff with suggestions of those not participating, they can only kill with their role by the Sheriff's order.
This does not discount the Miners from being able to participate in the game. The Miners will just not be able to kill using Miner tools if they kill for personal reasons.
The Miners will have access to the Coal Mines under the town via a trap door in the Sheriff's station.
The Miners will have access to a cache of weapons in the Coal Mines in order to take out their victims.
Miner kills will not have a trial following their kills. Miners will only be tried if they kill as part of the game.
Both Miners should be actively participating in the game. If one Miner is not, the Sheriff will order their death via the other Miner.
