Located in drawer of the bedside table of each hotel room and tucked away in the back of the church pews can be found small leatherbound booklets with the word RULES printed right on the front. These books aren't very thick, all small enough to fit into a pocket and when characters open to the first page, it's clear enough that it's been written by the Sheriff.
GENERAL
- Everyone is assigned a hotel room. You get one key. Do not lose it.
- You will be responsible for all personal self-care (eating, bathing, clothing). If there is something required for you to be able to perform your daily needs, request it from the Sheriff.
- You will be responsible for your personal items. Theft between participants is a personal matter and must be resolved between participants, not the Sheriff.
- You will be responsible for your own safety. Curfew will only be enforced Thursday nights when the front door of the hotel will be locked at 9 PM and all hotel rooms will be locked at 12 AM. It is up to you to be where you belong when this occurs.
- Don't be an idiot. If you're not sure what to do, ask the Sheriff.
- Please do not destroy the town.
MURDERS
- At least one person will be killed each week. This is mandatory.
- All suicides leave the participant disqualified from the competition.
- Please do not kill in the hotel. It won't be cleaned.
- Please do not kill without consulting the Sheriff first either.
- Murders eligible for reward will occur Thursday nights. All murders committed out of schedule will not be eligible for reward.
- The Sheriff reserves the right to ask you to wait your turn if the week of your murder is particularly busy for him.
TRIALS
- Everyone must be present at trials. Everyone must vote.
- Two votes: one for who committed the crime, one for who will execute the criminal.
- All votes are final. Once the culprit is decided, there is no changing.
- If the culprit voted for is innocent, the guilty party will not be revealed to the public.
ROLES
- Certain participants have been given duties to perform alongside the game. Do not share these duties with the public.
- If a role has been revealed to the public, it is the public's responsibility to decide how to deal with them. Not the Sheriff.
REWARDS
- Each action performed in game will qualify participants for a reward. More participation, more eligibility.
- All rewards will be handed out at the completion of the game unless the reward is a material item, then the participant will receive it Monday morning.
- There is no limit on rewards, though the Sheriff asks you do not request to leave the game as all participants will be leaving upon completion anyway.
At the end of the rules, all pages left in the book are blank and each copy of the rulebook is open for characters to use how they wish. There will be a small pencil located within bedside tables if characters decide to use their rulebook to write in. |
